Q. Do all buildings need an asbestos survey?

A. The requirements for an asbestos survey as set out by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), refers to non-domestic properties, however asbestos containing materials, otherwise known as ACM's, are present in many domestic properties as well. Residents and builders, landlords, maintenance workers and the insurance industry are instructing that an asbestos survey be carried out on non-domestic property.

Q. What is the waiting time for the asbestos survey report?

A. Usually within 24 to 48 hours after we have completed the asbestos survey your property. For refurbishment and demolition, asbestos survey analysis results from the laboratory can be emailed or even faxed to you. A full written report with the back up data on CD can be sent out by recorded delivery.

Q. What happens if the asbestos survey detects asbestos on our premises?

A. This depends on the type of asbestos, the location of it and mainly the condition of the asbestos that is found on your premises. The recommendations can vary from managing the asbestos or to have it removed immediately by a licensed asbestos removal contractor.
