The Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 link to external website came into force on 6 April 2012, updating previous asbestos regulations to take account of the European Commission's view that the UK had not fully implemented the EU Directive on exposure to asbestos (Directive 2009/148/EC). In practice the changes are quite limited. They mean that some types of non-licensed work with asbestos now have additional requirements, such as notification of work, medical surveillance and record keeping. All other requirements have remained unchanged.
Survey Safe™ can help you administer all of your asbestos removal, remediation, management requirements and asbestos awareness training.
Survey Safe™ have experience in working in diverse environments such as industrial factories, office buildings, many retail outlets and listed buildings, some of which have considerable historical importance. We work with local authorities and deal with demolition surveys and projects. Survey Safe™ has the disciplines to help you safely manage every aspect of asbestos found in your work place.
The way to manage asbestos is to first determine the extent of the property portfolio that is affected by asbestos, prioritising in question contaminated asbestos area and then any remaining asbestos containing materials in order of risk, these are commonly referred to as 'ACMs'. We do this by carrying out a specialist asbestos survey, which will identify the location, type, volume and condition of any asbestos containing materials.
Once we have carried out the survey, we are then able to help you to understand the level of asbestos contamination and develop an asbestos action plan that addresses the risks concerned. These action plans will form part of the asbestos management plan that are bespoke to the client’s requirements, but remain in line with existing Health & Safety policies.
In short, our expertise in working with asbestos means that you can be assured of the safe working environment to employees, cost effective management, removal, and legal and regulatory compliance of any asbestos removal project we undertake on your behalf.
