Asbestos is rightly considered to be the most dangerous building material ever used in the construction industry.
Every year thousands of people become ill and die because of previous exposure to asbestos. It was widely used by the construction industry right up until the year 2000, so this means that any building built prior to this date has a good chance of containing this deadly material.
Our online asbestos awareness training course can help you and your staff to avoid coming into contact with asbestos both at home and at work.
The Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 (CAR 2012) applies to employers, employees, self employed persons and duty holders. The Regulations cover all types of work with asbestos containing materials.
Regulation 10 of CAR 2012 states that every employer must ensure that adequate information, instruction and training is given to employees who are liable to be exposed to asbestos. This includes maintenance workers and others who may come into contact with or disturb asbestos.
